III Quantum Information School and Workshop
In the last two weeks, several members of our group were present in the III Quantum Information School and Workshop held in the city of Paraty, Rio de Janeiro. Three professors and four students presented their work in the form of seminar or poster:
Talks:
- “Quantum information processing with optical vortices” by professor Antonio Zelaquett Khoury.
- “Random quantum circuits with locally invariant gates” by professor Daniel Jonathan.
- “No-locality and Quantum Phase Transitions in the XXZ model” by professor Thiago R. Oliveira.
Posters:
- “Extending matchgates into universal quantum computation” by Daniel Jost Brod.
- “Translating measurement-based quantum computation into compact quantum circuits” by Raphael dias da Silva.
- “NAME” by Cleidson Santos de Castro.
- “Bell inequalities and entanglement in the XXZ model” by Leonardo J. Pereira.
Also, the professor Ernesto F. Galvão gave a nice open talk (in portuguese) about what is quantum computation entitled “O que é computação quântica?”. Several high school students and laymen were present to learn more about this new and exciting field of science.
