The paper ”Experimental scattershot boson sampling”, by theorists Ernesto Galvão, IF-UFF alumnum Daniel Brod and collaborators has just been published in the newly launched journal Science Advances, the fourth in the Science group of journals. This paper presents results which are part of an on-going collaboration involving the experimental quantum optics groups of Fabio Sciarrino (Rome) and Roberto Osellame (Milan). It reports the first experimental results of a new type of boson sampling quantum computer, which uses parametric down-conversion sources in a way that makes the implementation scalable.
