Informação: My main research is in the areas of quantum information and foundations of quantum mechanics. More specifically, I like to establish connections between these two fields. Among other things, I’ve done work on discrete Wigner functions, non-locality, contextuality and quantum communication complexity. I am also interested in different models for quantum computation, especially measurement-based quantum computation.

The first chapters of my Ph.D. thesis include an introduction to some issues on foundations of quantum mechanics and quantum information. I have also written a short book about quantum computing (in Portuguese), at a very introductory level, aimed at a general non-technical audience.

Currently I am supervising PhD student Raphael Dias on a project on measurement-based quantum computation, and PhD student Daniel Jost Brod on a project studying the relationship between quantum statistics and classical simulability.
